Contracts
Transport & vehicles
Public sector contract notices in transport & vehicles, from Find a Tender and Contracts Finder.
Transport services and the vehicles that deliver them: passenger transport including home to school and special educational needs journeys, patient transport, freight and courier work, vehicle supply, hire, parts and conversion, and supporting services. CPV divisions 60, 34 and 63, with vehicle installation codes.
Home to school and SEND transport is the steadiest work in this category and is usually let as many small route contracts or as call-offs from a dynamic purchasing system, which is why an operator with a handful of vehicles can hold several of them. Licensing is the gate: an operator licence of the right type, PSV or taxi licensing for passenger work, and DBS checks plus passenger assistant training where children or vulnerable adults travel. Where a notice covers a whole area it is normally divided into routes or lots, so read the lots before the total.
